Overflow

Overflow by Chris Reece (Original Mix)

This is my first listing from the Chillout genre. I'll probably use it for my next video compilation. A long one.

TranceUpdate: New finds

Found a couple more great tracks today:

Logic Symphony by Arty is a simple, no-frills track with a great notes and punching bass.

Allrite, the next one's not too good for viewing. So a pair of good headphones and a minimized browser window should make this track a sure fire hit with everyone:

Move for Me by Deadmau5 and kaskade

Earns it's place in my heart!

A great trance track again! From Zabiela's Essential Mix. Check out the video and you'll see:

A Place in my heart(Featuring Erland Oye), remixed by Jori Hullkonen

Lyrics:

I think I have insulted you,
You're dancing with your back against me
I think I have insulted you,
You're dancing with your back against me

I Look around, You look away -
We said hello, you had nothing to say

I think I know the reason why
In fact, it's very clear
I think I know the reason why
In fact, it's very clear

Gonna have to make you understand,
You'll always have a place in my heart
Gonna have to make you understand,
You'll always have a place in my heart

Woh din bhi the...

The 90s were a period of transition. India was transforming- Cities were evolving and so were the people. I was a kid and I have some very vivid memories of this period, like the now extinct Opel Astra I used to gawk at, or the Ford escort with it's unique 'sheepish smile' grill. Other memorable cars from the period include the Tata Sierra, Estate and the iconic contessa. Malls were unheard of. A 'street' called Abids and a few at Charminar were the de facto avenues for shopping. There were some big retail outlets too but were out of reach for most.

Television saw remarkable growth in the 90s and was initially dominated by DoorDarshan to be later replaced by other private networks. Some of my favorites from DD include School Days, Alif Laila, "the mile sur..." commercial and many others. Private networks gave us classics too, Filmi chakkar and Hum paanch were laugh riots. Oh, who could forget those "Asian sky shop" ads. Anhonee and Aahat deserve special mention. Both had spine chilling theme music.
DD Metro introduced me to chip n Dale rescue rangers. Then came ZEE tv's Disney Hour with Talespin, Ducktales, Aladdin, Little Mermaid and the new Goof troop, Darkwing Duck and Bonkers. I even watched the telugu versions on disney Sandhya!
Actually I could write a whole series of posts on disney features. Next...

Indipop. Bombay vikings, Baba Sehgal, Remo, Sonu Nigam and many others were instrumental in shaping the indipop scene. Even Shiamak Davar in his short stint gave us a couple of memorable tunes before moving to Dance. Then came the sensation that was Alisha Chinoy. I still have that "Made in India" cassette Dad bought more than a decade ago! The genre now has moved to trash remixes with vulgar lyrics or crapped renditions of good movie songs.

----------------------------------------------------
We have better cars now.Audis and BMWs are the new benchmarks for 'rich'. The shift is now towards 'sports centred' sedans and SUVs. Apna Sachin drives a Ferrari Modena and some guy in Mumbai bought a Lamborghini Murcielago. I even saw a Maserati recently at a filling pump nearby. Malls...they're everywhere now, no description needed. Music has diversified and we've made great inroads into fusion, trance and even hip hop. TV is a different story. Some are hailing the new "reality" shift. I completely despise it. Young idiots battling it out for a karizma(go get a life dude!). Girls speaking filth, rona dhona antics in competitions for TRP...I donno if it's just me but I hate reality shows. And I've never seen a single episode.

Some videos I found on youtube...

This song by Vikas Bhalla is so sweet I remember the lyrics more than ten years on! Some good chap uploaded this video on youtube(bad quality though)

Old Man and the sea duck: My favorite Talespin episode.

More like a lesson in living for small kids, this 1934 cartoon feature is memorable, and who could forget "Mehnat karney sey kya fayda?"

An ode to friendship. Those watching for the first time are bound to fall off their chairs laughing. For old timers though...the quirky choreography is no problem. It's pure nostalgia for me...

A quick search on youtube is all that is needed to relive the great decade that was the 90s.

Great track by BT, Every Other Way remixed by AvB himself. ASOT 422

Is it strange
That I call you?
Oh do you think
That I might forgive?

I wish I could run
To you and you meet me
You know I can’t be found
For long

I don’t feel me now
Cause there’s a lot of time to waste
Don’t shut me out
We should await another day

And I’ve searched for you
And my heart has been chased
Hear me yell
It’ll be the only chance to say

Hold me now
I said it every other way
Hold me now
I said it every other way

I don’t feel me now
Cause there’s a lot of time to waste
Don’t shut me out
We should await another day

And I’ve searched for you
And my heart has been chased
Hear me yell
It’ll be the only chance to say
Hear me yell
It’ll be the only chance to say

Hold me now
I said it every other way

(The guy who posted the lyrics on www.trancefix.nl is not sure about some words though)

yes, I don't want you to hide...

Undisclosed Desires by Muse. Just what I needed for my disoriented mind. Awesome lyrics, soothing rhythm. Wait, why I'm I moving to alternative rock now? Who cares...awesome track.

I know you suffered
But I don't want you to hide
It's cold and loveless
I won't let you be denied

Soothe me
I'll make you feel pure
Trust me
You can be sure

I want to reconcile the violence in your heart
I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask
I want to exorcise the demons from your past
I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart

You take your lovers that you're wicked and divine
You may be a sinner
But your innocence is mine

Please me
Show me how it's done
Tease me
You are the one

I want to reconcile the violence in your heart
I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask
I want to exorcise the demons from your past
I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart

Please me
Show me how it's done
Trust me
You are the one

I want to reconcile the violence in your heart
I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask
I want to exorcise the demons from your past
I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart

Uprising...

Great Song by Muse

"Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR transmissions will resume,
They'll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down,
And hope that we will never see the truth around
(So come on)
Another promise, another scene,
Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed,
And all the green belts wrapped around our minds,
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious
(So come on)

Interchanging mind control,
Come let the revolution take it's toll,
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye,
You'd see that
We should never be afraid to die
(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back,
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack,
You know that their time's coming to an end,
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious
So come on

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious"

Lifting Leaves(Original mix) by Estiva is one great track! They have a very distinct style and the instrumental score is the reason why I love trance so much. Very uplifting.

TranceUpdate

Faruk Sabanci & Nurettin Colak "Anatolian Emotions"
Great track.

Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode remixed. donno the DJ.

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Cant you understand
Oh my little girl

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Enjoy the silence
