I bought my very first pair of Raybans with my first salary in Canada for about $350. They're rarely used because I'm always worried I'll lose them. I also bought a pair of prescription Oakley eyeglasses last year in India for about Rs 16,000 ($262 Canadian). They turned out to be duds and I don't use them anymore.
I discovered last year I can get good eyewear at thrift stores for cheap. Just have to be very patient.
I have since picked up eyeglasses that Mum and Dad have been using daily and I couldn't be more proud!
Below are some recent acquisitions. Prices range from $2.50 to sometimes $15.

Some are in great shape and some not so much. These will be given in family and friends for anyone interested with the full disclosure that they're all thrifted.
